September 25, 2020
CHN on Friday, Sept. 25 sent a letter to all 100 U.S. Senators demanding COVID-19 relief. It reads in part, "The pandemic has imperiled your constituents’ economic well-being and their health. COVID-19 cases are again rising, and as we enter the colder months, the threat will increase. The moratorium on evictions expires at the end of the year. If you leave now without acting, millions of people, unable to come up with one or more months of unpaid rent, will face eviction."

CHN submits comments in opposition to Oklahoma’s proposed Medicaid cap
June 29, 2020
Oklahoma’s willingness to shift to a per capita cap funding structure in its Medicaid program is in our view state administrative malpractice at any time. It would place the state – and its people – at absolutely unacceptable risk during a pandemic. More people will get sick from COVID-19. Medical costs will rise as a result. The current Medicaid funding structure is intended to protect people across the nation if states face such health crises. Approving such a limit, which will only result in the state restricting Medicaid eligibility or benefits, or adding more onerous cost-sharing as it now seeks, is certainly contrary to the Medicaid statute’s purpose.

June 29, 2020
The proposal advanced by the Commonwealth of Kentucky will not make stable employment more likely for its current Medicaid enrollees; in fact, the loss of Medicaid coverage will stand in the way of steady work.
